This funky green typewriter is an Olivetti Lettera 32. Made in Italy in 1968, its original pistachio green paintwork is very glossy, making it wonderfully reflective. The typewriter also sports the uncommon Olivetti typeface 'Bodoni,' adding to its uniqueness, and comes with a refurbished case and an original user manual. Expertly packed, this Olivetti can be sent wherever you are, ready to type out of the box.

Having been cleaned, polished and waxed with museum-grade microcrystalline wax, the green paint shines superbly. There are some blemishes to the paint, most notably above the upper right corner of the keyboard and on the edges of the section below the spacebar. There is also an area of fading to the paint on the flat part above the "Lettera 32" decal on the front, perhaps caused by a sticker that was once placed there. Otherwise, the green paint is in good condition and reflects surroundings brilliantly.

The left-hand carriage cover has some wear to its silver paint. The right-hand one is in great condition.

The chrome and nickel plated metal parts, which have been polished to a shine, are in great condition, as are the plastic platen knobs. The key tops, which have each received a plastic polishing, are in good condition, with some light signs of wear. The spacebar exhibits some signs of wear, mostly to its front edge.

This typewriter has been disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. As the photograph of the type sample shows, there is a little damage to a few of the typeslugs: "e," "h," and "m." The damage is minor but does make for imperfect printing of these lowercase characters. This is reflected in the price.

All functions have been adjusted for best operation and include a basket shift, silent carriage return, margins, margin release, touch control (gently increases or decreases the pressure needed from fingers to type), backspace, shift-lock, line space selector, tab, variable line spacing knob and good-sounding bell.

The platen has hardened (as is the case with most vintage and antique typewriters) but still retains a bit of give and, having been cleaned with rubber rejuvinator, grips paper well. The rubber rollers are in excellent condition, having also been cleaned with rubber rejuvinator.

The leatherette case, which has had its inside completely refurbished, is in excellent condition. The exterior is unmarked, and the zip works well. The handle is sturdy and can be used to carry the case.

This typewriter prints Bodoni at 11 characters per inch in black or red. A new ribbon has been installed, and print quality is excellent.
