This uncommon typewriter is a Rheinmetall KsT from 1958 (with a QWERTY layout!). I have had this typewriter for three years, and it has been one of my favourites. Made in (East) Germany, Rheinmetall portables may not be as well known as their Olympia counterparts, but they represent some of the excellent typewriter engineering that occured behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War.
Among its well-designed and service-friendly engineering is the ability to easily remove the KsT's carriage (see last photo) for access to the escapement and other parts. I have seen the KsT described as the typewriter mechanic's typewriter, and when you own one you can see why.
Fully serviced and fitted with a new ribbon, this typewriter is ready to use out of the box. It will be expertly packed for shipping to both domestic and international destinations.
